
As we are heading towards the end of this February-August Semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year, students of the Unpad English Studies Program need to pay attention to the following.
FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS
Second-semester students will have to provide valid evidence of having attained a minimum score of 450 on the English Language Test (ELT). If not, they will have to take non-credit classes in Semester 3 to help them achieve it by the end of Semester 4. If you need to retake the ELT, visit the Language Center website for details. Please complete THIS FORM. Please make the necessary arrangements to attend classes onsite in the 2022/2023 Academic Year.
SECOND-YEAR STUDENTS
Fourth-semester students will have to provide valid evidence of having attained 550 on the English Language Test (ELT). If not, they will have to make arrangements to improve their score before they take the Thesis Defense Examination (Ujian Sidang Skripsi). If you need to retake the ELT, visit the Language Center website for details. Please complete THIS FORM. Please make the necessary arrangements to attend classes onsite in the 2022/2023 Academic Year.
THIRD-YEAR STUDENTS
Sixth-semester students will still need to provide valid evidence of having attained 550 on the English Language Test (ELT). If not, you will have to make arrangements to improve your score before you take the Thesis Defense Examination (Ujian Sidang Skripsi). Please complete THIS FORM. Please make the necessary arrangements to attend classes onsite in the 2022/2023 Academic Year.
Sixth-semester students may also apply to take advantage of the fast track to pursue a master’s degree in 1) Linguistics or 2) literature and cultural studies at the Unpad Faculty of Cultural Sciences while completing the final stage of their fourth year of undergraduate studies. Students are eligible for the fast-track program if the following requirements are fulfilled:
- Minimum Grade-Point Average (IPK) of 3.00;
- Thesis title approved;
- Thesis supervisors assigned;
- Minimum English Language Test (ELT) or Paper-Based TOEFL score of 500 or IELTS score of 5.5;
- Minimum Academic Competence Test/Tes Kemampuan Akademik (TKA) score of 550; and
- THIS FORM completed, signed, and sent to english.fib@unpad.ac.id CC-ed to adipurwawidjana@unpad.ac.id, u.kamarudin@unpad.ac.id, the main thesis supervisor (pembimbing utama), and the academic advisor (dosen wali) by 4:00 pm (16.00 WIB) Wednesday, 29 June 2022.
FOURTH-YEAR STUDENTS
Eighth-, tenth-, twelfth-, and fourteenth-semester students will have to have completed their studies by 14 August 2022, and report their plans by completing THIS FORM. Please refer to the guidelines for thesis composition and for the thesis defense examination.
