On the 22nd of October 2015, our visiting professor Dr. Anton Y. Kurmelev, presented a paper on Tennessee Williams’s Ideas about Theater and Social Life at the Third International Literary Studies Conference at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta.
Also, presenting at the conference on the 21st of October was Ari J. Adipurwawidjana, delivering his presentation entitled “Beyond 1965: Figuring (Out) Global Threat in Contemporary Indonesian Literature.”
The conference was organized by Department of English Letters, English Education, and the Graduate Program of English Language Studies, Universitas Sanata Dharma, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in cooperation with Kritika Kultura, the international refereed journal of language, literary, and cultural studies of the Department of English, Ateneo de Manila University and Reading Asia, Forging Identities in Literature (RAFIL), a consortium of universities in the Asia-Pacific region with programs and projects in the field of Asian literatures. This year’s conference theme was “The 1965 Coup in Indonesia: Questions of Representation 50 Years Later.”
